Things to Do in Cusco
There are plenty of things to do in Cusco. If you spend a day or two in Cusco during your vacation to Peru, you should also visit the surrounding ruins near the city: Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, and Qenqo to learn more about the past cultures. You can visit these ruins in an afternoon, and enjoy vistas of Cusco from above.
If you have a sense of adventure, you could also try a mountain biking tour of the surrounding Cusco area. Or just relax in town, shopping in the many stores selling distinctive Peruvian handmade goods, or enjoying the sidewalk cafes, pubs, and rather interesting nightlife.
From Cusco take a scenic train ride across the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu, or hike through the Sacred Valley along the Inca Trail. Travel also to Puno and Lake Titicaca to enjoy the beautiful view of the Andes from the comfort of a scenic train.
