Railway tours in Bolivia
Bolivia is a rugged country and roads or flights are the most common modes of transport. But there are a few railways, including the passenger train Oruro-Uyuni. This is an excellent value, comfortable train that is far superior to the buses.
We recommend that you book your train ticket well in advance. The Uyuni train station is modern and organized, and the trains run overnight on Wednesday-Thursdays and Saturday-Sundays to Oruro (7 hour trip).
Also from Uyuni, you could take the train to Tupiza and Villazón on Tuesday and Friday nights. Also available is the train from Uyuni to Avaroa, and then all the way to Calama in Chile. Other schedules may be available, so please contact us for updated info on our Bolivia train tours.
