Travelers from New Zealand, South Africa, and many other Latin American countriesΒ DO NOT REQUIRE A VISAΒ to enter Uruguay. However, it is still very important you check with your local consulate or embassy for the most up-to-date visa & passport requirements.
Passport Requirements
Citizens ofΒ ALLΒ countries: To enter Uruguay, your passportΒ mustΒ be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, if you are traveling toΒ Uruguay in March, your passport must be valid through September of that year.
We strongly recommend making copies of your passport. Keep your original passport locked away in the safe of your hotel and carry a photocopy of your passport with you during your travels. You might also consider purchasing a passport holder to keep all your documents safe.
Visa Requirements
Citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa, most of Europe and ScandinaviaΒ DO NOT REQUIREΒ a tourist visa to enter Uruguay.
They can stay in Uruguay for up to 90-days visa-free.
