There are free Wi-Fi hotspots in public places like the Montevideo airport, and in many hotels. Check your hotel website or call them to make sure they offer Internet access. Internet cafes in major cities are plentiful. Just ask for the “cafe de Internet.”

The majority of the hotels we work with offer Internet access and international telephone dialing, although for calling home, you’ll get better rates by using an Internet-based phone service such as Skype.
