If you are wondering where to stay in Machu Picchu, here are our recommendations for the best hotels in Aguas Calientes, located just 6km from the historical ruins of Machu Picchu. If you feel like sleeping in the Ancient Inca City in the Clouds there’s only one hotel located at the entrance to the ruins.

We recommend spending the night in Aguas Calientes. This way, you can be the first to enter the ruins. Many enjoy getting up early to watch the spectacular sunrise of the Lost City of the Incas. Accommodation in Aguas Calientes ranges from budget to luxurious hotels. Follow along as we list our favorite Machu Picchu hotels, sure to help make your decision easier.

1. Belmond Sanctuary Lodge (5 stars)

First on our list is the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. At the entrance of the historic lost city of Machu Picchu, you’ll find the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. This is a luxurious hotel with a fascinating view of the Huayna Picchu mountain. With modern decor, the rooms include cable TV, Wi-Fi, and bathroom amenities. Some rooms feature an open balcony and panoramic views of the region. There is also a buffet breakfast available. In addition to breakfast, there are two sophisticated restaurants on site: Tampu and Tinkuy, and a bar.

2. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel (5 stars)

Stay-in-Machu-PicchuNext on our list is the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. This hotel is a natural paradise, perfect for connecting with the sacred energy of the mountains. It is an intimate 85-cottage luxury hotel in the style of an Andean village. Set in 12 secluded acres of beautiful countryside, guests follow stone pathways to their rooms. This hotel has fantastic reviews.

3. Sumaq Hotel (4 stars)

Stay-in-Machu-Picchu At the foot of the imposing surrounding mountains and the banks of the Vilcanota River, stands Sumaq Hotel. The inspiration for the architecture of this hotel came from the enigmatic lost city of the Incas. Sumptuous, spacious, and sophisticated – every guestroom here is a private retreat. This is where travelers begin and end each day in complete comfort.

4. El Mapi Hotel (3 stars)
