It is very hard to pick just one memorable moment from our trip. Some aspects of the trip that really stuck were:
- The rustic serenity of Peru and it's mind-blowing ancient history and architecture
- The exotic mystery of Easter Island and it's moais, and being surrounded by beautiful volcanic crater lakes and rugged coastal cliffs - The remote hills of Chiloe and sleeping to the sound of the Pacific waves crashing Patagonian landscapes and waterscapes that were out of this world
- Fascinating gaucho culture and coming back home after our tiring hikes to all the luxurious comforts, all-inclusive benefits and customized chef meals at Remota!
I would say most of our trip experience was seamless and transitions very smooth! The biggest comfort was having a reliable, very well-informed, English-speaking guide pick us up at all airports. This was huge for us, as we did not speak the language. SouthAmerica.travel did a great job with this. Though our stay in Chiloe was comfortable and beautiful, our main reason for including this place in our itinerary was not fulfilled. We had signed up for whale watching expedition for 2 days in Chiloe, and upon our arrival we were told that the shops had already shut down for the season. However, SouthAmerica.travel compensated us in full for this segment of the trip, which made us very happy and satisfied customers.
Tye Rogerson was very helpful and proved to be a great travel agent who kept his word and did not cease to assist us to the fullest even after our actual travels were complete. He saw us all the way through, which we were impressed with the most.
It was the adventure of a lifetime -- fun, laughter and challenges shared with the man I am now engaged to!! :)
