We enjoyed the entire two-week trip, everything was perfectly organized, accommodation well selected so we used our time in a best possible way and visited so many sights in such a short time. Thanks to our guides (Luiz, Marlene, Ernesto, Martin and Oscar) we were always in the right place at the right moment (sunset view from the Sugar Loaf, Machu Picchu early in the morning ...). All our wishes were fulfilled even beyond expectations - our daughter's great wish was to see a slot, her favorite animal, so Tom organized us a visit to Tipon, a Zoo near Cuzco where she could meet and hug a slot who lives there. However, the most memorable part of the journey that can not be matched to anything else we experienced so far was our stay at Posada Amazonas Lodge. The accommodation, the staff, the organization, and attractions were extraordinary. The Amazon rainforest turned out to be magical when presented by our guide Oscar who is an admirable combination of a devoted local with a great passion for his land and a highly educated expert in ornithology, botany, and zoology. I thought I was not that much interested in plants but in Amazon, there was a dramatic story about almost every plant we saw during our walks. As for the animal wildlife, we were lucky to see the main predators of the area, the caiman and the giant river otters in their natural habitat at the Oxbow lake. We even saw an anteater and a mum and a baby slot which is quite rare! Throughout our stay we felt all the staff were genuinely kind and sincerely interested in showing us most of their homeland - we did not see the slots on a guided tour, it was thanks to Antonio who knew that a slot was our daughter's favourite animal and he looked for us during dinner to say that a slot has been spotted close to our lodge! They shared with us their love for the rainforest and passion for football - all we can say is Arriva Peru! - we loved Peru, the land, and the people so much!
