During a Quito Ecuador tour, you’ll definitely want to visit the Cathedral of Quito on Plaza de la Independencia. Also walk around the modern part of Quito with its parks, shopping centers, and offices. Go on top of El Panecillo to see the large statue of the Virgin Mary called La Virgen del Panecillo. Just outside of Quito, visit the Mitad del Mundo monument that is situated 240 meters away from the real equator. Travel 11 miles (18km) north of Quito to the Middle of the World Complex and put one foot in each hemisphere.
